GILDED

“Gilded” is the design submission that I created for the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) and Runway of Dreams Foundation Student Design Competition. The competition, titled “Fashion For All”, is focused around creating adaptable apparel that in some way enhances the life of a person who is primarily wheelchair-bound. When brainstorming my project, I narrowed my target market to women ages 50+ with limited mobility.

This was one of my favorite projects that I have worked on because the design was centered around functionality. I found it incredibly interesting to research an underserved market and design a garment to meet their needs. See my submission board for additional commentary

I a proud to announce that my submission for this competition received third place in the nation. I received a cash prize and my designs were sent to the Tommy Hilfiger Adaptable Apparel design team.
